Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Lausanne is a long-established Christian missions organisation known for its diverse global education courses and training programs. Over time, the site had grown complex, making it difficult for visitors to find information or register for courses. We partnered with YWAM Lausanne to create a modern, clear, and user-friendly website that reflects the organisation’s mission.
In this two-month project, our team delivered strategy, design, development, content, wireframes, and a custom CMS. The primary goal was to simplify a vast and intricate structure, guided by the principle of Swiss clarity. We also integrated a live course enrollment system powered by the client’s legacy Salesforce data, ensuring that course listings and registration stayed up to date.
We began with a comprehensive content audit and information architecture planning. Working closely with YWAM Lausanne’s team, we mapped out all courses, departments, and content types. We reorganized this information into a logical, user-centric hierarchy. This strategy ensured that visitors could navigate the site with ease.
The visual design was inspired by Swiss graphic clarity. We used the existing YWAM logo as our starting point and built a minimalist palette around it. Typography and white space were carefully chosen to create a calm and focused experience. Each screen serves the content without distraction: simplicity was intentional.
To visualize the structure, we developed wireframes that laid out key pages: homepage, program overview, course listing, and story pages. These wireframes became the blueprint for design and development. We reviewed prototypes with the client to refine navigation and ensure clarity in every view.
On the development side, we built the site from the ground up. A custom content management system was created so the YWAM team could easily publish news and stories with ease. We integrated the client’s legacy Salesforce data to power a live course system. This integration pulls course details from Salesforce into the website, allowing real-time enrollment directly on the site. We tested the integration rigorously to maintain data accuracy.
